Midland Game Fair 2008 (MGF)

Spent the day at Weston park for the Midland Game Fair 2008 with friends. In between all the stands I managed to snap a few shots, mainly the hawks and owls from the falconry arena.

Had a fantastic day out, Thanks to Phil and Michelle for letting me tag along :o)

I have just heard that my photo "Just add water.." has won the photo competition that I entered it into, back in August. The prize is a Riedenschild Sailing Master (Blue face) worth £160.

So you can imagine I am very happy :o) It won the weekly heat with 39% of the vote against 9 other watch photo and was then entered in the monthly vote, which it won with 53% of the vote against 4 other weekly winners.

It should be summer but it was a grey miserable day at the quarry. Didn't get there till two O'clock so only managed a couple of hours of shooting before it was time to pack up for the day. So only 58 shots today, might try again next month...

York Castle (Also known as Clifford's Tower) is the remains of a 13th century castle in the walled town of York.

This was taken at Monkey Forest at the end of May and the baby was just 2 weeks old at the time, hope the poor chap has grown into his ears :o)

At Monkey Forest the monkeys roam free in a large fenced in forest and you go in with them, but as this chap was young the mother was keeping well away from the path. These were taken with a Sigma 600mm F8 lens.

Black Country Museum

Spent the day at the Black Country Museum in Dudley, its a fantastic place for photography and lots to see. It was very busy today and it was hard to get shots without the crowds in them.
